Thomas Tavernier: Artist in Residence at Fondation CAB in Brussels
Fondation CAB in Brussels is pleased to present Thomas Tavernier (Belgium, born in 2000), its 30th artist in residence and the winner of the Fondation CAB 2023 prize, awarded to a graduate of La Cambre.
Tavernier's Art
Tavernier draws inspiration from domestic interiors to create drawings and interventions that challenge our perception of space and architecture. His work navigates the boundaries between figuration and abstraction, using rotations and duplications to create new spatial experiences.
Colors and Materials
At the heart of his practice are soft pastels, handmade by the artist himself. Tavernier creates works with subtle and vibrant colors, delving deeply into the exploration of material and color.
