Taken over in 2026 by Les Maisons CAB, the Belhazar estate is an oasis of art and design on the outskirts of Essaouira, set within a landscape of argan trees and light. Conceived as a home to live in rather than a hotel, it offers a residential experience where contemporary creation, Moroccan craftsmanship and architecture enter into dialogue with the land and the natural rhythm of the place.

In every space, traditional materials — tadelakt, bejmat, zellige — are worked with care, while carefully selected pieces lend the rooms a subtle and sensitive presence. The estate also offers yoga, hammam, massages and cooking classes, with a concierge service for outdoor experiences. It can be rented by the room, partially or fully privatised to accommodate up to 22 guests.
Staying at Belhazar is as much about inhabiting a collection as it is about resting in a home. Curated by Samy Ghiyati and Nicolas Nahab, the collection brings together works by Yto Barrada, Amina Agueznay, Mbarek Bouhchichi and an in situ piece by Latifa Echakhch created for the pool, alongside a design furniture collection combining young Moroccan designers with rare historical pieces.

The house
A traditional Berber stone building, the main house features nine spacious rooms, each with a private bathroom and most with direct access to the outside. The shared spaces — living room, dining room, large terrace — open onto the garden and the private pool. Guests also have access to the estate's shared swimming lane.

The pavilion
Tucked away from the main house, the Belhazar Pavilion is an independent retreat of two bedrooms, with a kitchen, living room, terrace and private pool. Ideal for a stay as a couple, with close friends or as a family, it offers complete privacy in the same refined spirit as the rest of the estate. The pavilion also has access to the shared swimming lane.
